This book gives a complete description of the Prophetic school of dialogue. It surveys the authentic and good hadith on dialogue, to show Muslims in particular and humanity in general the best method of dialogue through the dialogues of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him.
It presents his dialogues with some of the angels; with his Companions — men and women, his wives in particular, the young and children; and with the idolaters, in the best manner, as with Thumamah ibn Uthal, and in his letters to Arab tribes. His dialogue reached almost all the Jews of his time — in Madinah, Khaybar, Yemen and Syria — and almost all the Christians of his time — in Syria, Yemen, Egypt, Abyssinia and Najran — most of them through letters inviting them to Islam; and also the Zoroastrians. As for the hypocrites, he suffered from them what turns hair grey, yet he spoke with them most gently, taking them at face value without searching their hidden intentions.
