Trials (fitan) are the widest door through which Satan enters the hearts of people; through them the truth is abandoned and falsehood embraced, so warning against them is a necessity.
This book brings together narrations scattered through the books of hadith and biography. Its compiler has made no small effort tracing the reports of the noble Companion Hudhayfah ibn al-Yaman, may Allah be pleased with him, the keeper of the Prophet's confidences, from whom many narrations on the trials of the last days have come down. He gathers all his narrations on the trials, explains their rare words and clarifies obscure meanings that may confuse the reader.
