A treatise rare in its subject that shows the reader how the early scholars strove to bring benefit to those who seek it, in a graceful style that captures the attention of students and lovers of knowledge.
In it al-Hafiz Ibn Nasir al-Din al-Dimashqi gathers six hadith that he narrates from six teachers, with six links between him and their compilers and narrators, through six hadith masters, on six themes. With them he includes part of the biography of the Successor and hadith master Amr ibn Murrah al-Jamali, and poems and accounts of al-Nabighah al-Ja'di.
